Punakaiki West Coast Heritage scenic

Depart from Greymouth into the heart of some of the West Coast's rich mining history, with a flight over the old mining settlement of Rewinui, where native bush is slowly reclaiming this once bustling remote mining town. 

Journey towards the rugged West Coast over New Zealand’s spectacular Paparoa Range. Look down on the varied landscapes, from subtropical rain forest to alpine tops, to the dramatic limestone gorge of the Pororari River. Gaze down in wonder at the Punakaiki pancake rocks and blowholes, where columns of water shoot skyward from rocks that resemble giant stacks of hotcakes.
